Glycerin Soap with Coffee — Handmade

Coffee fruit powder in soap — not coffee fragrance, but a physical coffee presence. The fine, dark granules are visible in the translucent glycerin base, and during washing they do what coffee grounds do in homemade scrubs — gently exfoliate the skin, removing the dead cell layer and leaving the surface smoother and fresher. Only here it comes in a finished product you use like ordinary soap.

Coffee fruit powder — what it does

Coffea Arabica fruit powder is ground from the coffee fruit — not just the bean, but the whole fruit including the pulp around it. It is a gentler exfoliant than pure coffee bean grounds, because the fruit particles are finer and less sharp-edged. During washing they provide a light scrub sensation — enough for skin to feel smoother afterwards, but not so aggressive that you cannot use them daily.

Coffee fruit powder also contains natural antioxidants — chlorogenic acid and polyphenols. During soap’s brief contact time their impact is modest, but it is an extra dimension that synthetic scrub particles cannot offer.

Aromatic composition

This soap does not smell of coffee — and that is a deliberate choice. Instead, the fragrance is built as a warm, woodsy-sweet scent that hints at coffee without imitating it:

• Cedarwood Oil (Juniperus Virginiana) — a natural essential oil with a warm, woody, slightly pencil-like character. It gives the fragrance its foundation and depth — the kind that makes a scent feel “serious” rather than frivolously sweet.
• Vanillin — the pure vanillin molecule, adding sweetness without overdoing it. Together with cedarwood — like coffee with milk and sugar: warm, homely, but not confectionery.
• Hexamethylindanopyran (Cashmeran) — the warm, musky base note connecting cedarwood with vanillin and giving the scent staying power and skin-closeness. Without Cashmeran the scent would evaporate after the first washing moment — with it, it lingers a little longer.

Together — a fragrance that recalls a coffee house more than a bag of coffee beans. Not coffee aroma — but the feeling that surrounds coffee.

Glycerin base

The same formula as other Bio2You handmade soaps — three humectants and soap structure:

• Glycerin, Sorbitol, Propylene Glycol — moisture binding during the wash.
• Sodium Stearate, Palmitate, Laurate — soap structure.
• Sodium Laureth Sulfate — the cleansing base.
• Titanium Dioxide — white pigment.
• Colourants (CI 19140, CI 16255, CI 28440) — yellow, red and black together give the soap a warm, coffee-brown tone.

Texture and feel

The soap is darker than most Bio2You glycerin soaps — a coffee-brown tone with visible coffee fruit powder granules inside. During washing the granules are felt — but less than the millet seeds in the Sweet Grapefruit soap, as coffee fruit powder is finer. The sensation is more like a light massage than scrubbing. Creamy lather, a warm and woodsy-sweet fragrance.

After rinsing — skin feels smooth and clean, with a subtle post-exfoliation freshness from the coffee powder. The scent may linger on the skin for a few minutes — but no longer.

How to use

Like any other soap — wet, lather and wash. The coffee fruit powder exfoliation is gentle enough for daily use on hands and body. On the face — more cautiously.
