Millet seeds in soap — it sounds unusual, and that is precisely the point. The small, round grains are visible through the translucent glycerin base, and during washing they do what ordinary soap cannot — gently scrub the skin, removing the dead cell layer and leaving it smoother with a fresher feel. All of this accompanied by a grapefruit fragrance that on a morning wakes you as well as the first sip of coffee.

Millet seeds — why these specifically

Where Bio2You’s Oats soap exfoliates with oat flakes — large, soft, with a broad contact surface — this soap takes a different approach. Millet seeds (Panicum Miliaceum) are small and round, working more precisely — like tiny, gentle buffing points on the skin. The sensation is less “flakes” and more “scrub”, but without aggression — the grains are soft enough for daily use.

Beyond exfoliation, the millet seeds give the soap a distinctive visual texture — in the translucent glycerin base, the small golden grains look beautiful, almost like tiny amber beads.

Aromatic composition

The name is “Sweet Grapefruit”, but the scent is not sugary-sweet — it is sharp, clean and more citrus-true than the sweet name might suggest. How it is built:

• Limonene — the key molecule that gives grapefruit, orange and lemon their characteristic scent. In this formula limonene dominates — and it is precisely what creates the grapefruit sensation.
• Bitter Orange Peel Oil (Citrus Aurantium Amara) — a natural essential oil adding a deeper, more bitter citrus dimension. Not sweet orange — elegantly bitter, like espresso compared to a latte.
• Lemon Peel Oil (Citrus Limon) — a sharp freshness in the top notes, opening the scent and giving it a sense of cleanliness.
• Citral — a sharp citrus molecule reinforcing the lemon and grapefruit character.
• Beta-Pinene + Terpineol — pine and woody notes giving the citrus freshness a slight green depth, preventing the scent from being one-dimensionally citrus.
• Hexamethylindanopyran (Cashmeran) — the warm, musky base note that makes the grapefruit freshness “settle” rather than vanishing after the first moment. Without this molecule the scent would be just a sharp citrus flash — with it, it becomes a fragrance with foundation.
• Geraniol — a subtle floral note rounding off the overall impression.

Glycerin base

The same formula as other Bio2You handmade soaps — three humectants caring for skin during the wash:

• Glycerin — the main humectant, the source of translucency.
• Sorbitol + Propylene Glycol — additional humectants.
• Sodium Stearate, Palmitate, Laurate — soap structure.
• Sodium Laureth Sulfate — the cleansing base.
• CI 16255 — red colourant giving the soap its coral/grapefruit-pink tone.

Texture and feel

The soap is translucent with a coral tone and visible millet seeds inside. During washing the grains are felt — but not painfully. The sensation is pleasant — like a light massage with tiny grains that leave skin smoother and with a fresher surface. Creamy lather, a sharp citrus fragrance filling the shower and making you feel awake.

How to use

Like any other soap — wet, lather and wash. The millet seed exfoliation is gentle enough for daily use on hands and body. On the face — more cautiously, as facial skin is more sensitive to mechanical exfoliation.
