Glycerin Soap with Lemon Fragrance and Almond Oil — Handmade

Lemon fragrance in soap is a classic — but usually it is synthetically sweet and overpowering, the kind that recalls a shop-floor cleaning product more than an actual lemon. In this soap, the lemon is different. At the heart of the fragrance is citral — the same molecule released when you zest a lemon on a fine grater. Sharp, clean, alive. The kind of lemon you want to smell, not turn away from.

Aromatic composition

Simple and honest — two aromatic components, both doing their job:

• Citral — the sharp freshness molecule of citrus. The substance that gives lemon peel, lemongrass and ginger their characteristic sting. In this soap, citral leads — and that is why the fragrance is closer to a real lemon than most “lemon” products on the market.
• Linalool — a floral-lavender note that softens citral’s sharpness, preventing the scent from being one-dimensionally sharp. Like sugar on a lemon slice — does not transform the lemon into something else, but rounds it off.

Sweet almond oil

Citrus-scented soaps often leave the feeling of skin being “squeaky clean” — lemon freshness suggests cleanliness, but for the skin it can mean dryness. In this formula, almond oil (Prunus Dulcis) balances the citrus sharpness with emollient softness. Oleic acid in the almond oil softens skin during washing, and after rinsing hands feel not only clean but also smooth and soft.

A clever pairing — lemon freshness for the sensation of cleanliness, almond oil for comfort.

Glycerin base

The same formula as other Bio2You handmade soaps:

• Glycerin — the main humectant, giving the soap translucency and a gentler wash.
• Sorbitol + Propylene Glycol — additional humectants.
• Sodium Stearate, Palmitate, Laurate — soap structure builders.
• Sodium Laureth Sulfate — the cleansing base.
• CI 19140 — yellow cosmetic colourant giving the soap its lemon-yellow hue.

Texture and feel

A translucent soap with a bright lemon-yellow hue — light passes through, and the yellow tone looks clean and fresh. Creamy lather — glycerin base and almond oil together give it a softer feel than ordinary soap. The fragrance is pronounced during washing — sharp, lemony, uplifting — and fades within minutes of rinsing.

How to use

Like any other soap. But perhaps these are the best morning soap — lemon sharpness wakes you up, and almond oil ensures hands feel soft for the rest of the day.
